Buddy Baker lies dying and dismembered after a vicious attack in the concrete jungle–but help comes from the most unusual of places! Meanwhile, another animal man makes his move! B'wana Beast tears his way through San Diego to reach a S.T.A.R. Labs facility where Djuba is being held for experimentation. Animal Man, who has had his arm torn off lies bleeding to death in an alley, but at the last minute he uses his powers to draw on the abilities of the local fauna to save himself. Realizing that he's out of his depth, Animal Man reports back to S.T.A.R. Labs. In the woods near the Baker home, Ellen is being held at gunpoint by some hunters. They take Mrs. Weidemeir's cat from her and feed it to their dogs. Maxine, who is hiding in the bushes flees when she's discovered.What will happen when Animal Man and B'wana Beast meet?
